What Is Revenue? What Does Revenue Tell Us?
Revenue or sales is the total earnings earned by a company prior to expenses. This tells us how much money a company has earned total and doesn’t account for any expenses required to earn that money. For example if you sold 10 widgets at $10 a piece over the course of a year, you earned 100$ in revenue that year ($10 x 10 widgets = $100). Read more on investopedia here.
