SECScraper Data Organizer: Why Organize Data? How Does Plotting Work?
SECScraper allows you to extract up to 12 years of 10-K financial statement data from the SEC EDGAR database. As you can imagine, this data can be largely disorganized based on the company and how their 10-K financial statements evolve over time. For example, revenue may be listed one year under a section called “Revenue to Gross Profit” and labelled as revenue, but the next year labelled as “Sales” under no section the following year. Rather than leaving you hanging with disorganized data for your excel spreadsheet, we offer a convenient interface to merge redundant sections and rows, and then rearrange these sections and rows in whatever order you’d like. This saves time on tedious excel spreadsheet editing. Please note we recommend viewing the disorganized data before hand and doing your data organization with the data from that spreadsheet in mind. At StockScrapers.com we empower and encourage our visitors to visualize data. In addition to providing calculated YOY changes, average YOY changes, and averages for every metric included in our custom built spreadsheets, at the click of the button you can select any data rows of any financial statement to plot over (up to) 12 years available. This requires no excel knowledge, you just tell us what you want to plot and it’s done.
